Ellie has been "cruising" for a while, pulling up on everything and making it clear she's ready to be a toddler. While she has taken a step or two here and there, today she put several together and we captured it so you all can see that our little baby is growing up!
She would take 5 or 6 steps in a row walking into Jim's arms and she repeated it over and over. It won't be long now until this becomes her primary mode of transportation.
Our trip to St. John was only possible because Grand Jane offered to come to DC and stay with Ellie. Thanks to her, we were able to enjoy our first real vacation since Ellie arrived nearly a year ago. Ellie and Grand Jane had a fun week together and Ellie really didn't notice Mommy and Daddy were gone. We really appreciated the time away, but we missed Ellie a lot and were excited to come home to see her!
Jim and Rachel had the opportunity to take a vacation to the US Virgin Islands with friends Laura & Brendan MacCarthy. We rented a villa the first week of November on St. John called "Cielo Vista" which means heavenly view and it certainly was!
The MacCarthys had been the year before, so they did a great job of setting up our stay this year with the house, rental car, daily beach trips, boat excursions and fabulous dining. We had an amazing trip and while we missed Ellie, she barely knew we were gone!
