Happy Easter!

Ellie quickly learned the fun of plastic Easter eggs this year. She had her first egg hunt at CA daycare on Friday. Those eggs were big and had toys inside them, but she was more excited to be on the playground than anything else. She also had an egg hunt at Grandma & Grandpa McCracken's house on Easter Sunday. It didn't last long, but she got the hang of seeing them in the yard and putting them in her basket. Mostly she just likes putting the eggs in her basket and then dumping them out over her head, which she's still doing this week.

We also colored some hard-boiled eggs on Saturday. Ellie wanted to drink the colored water and wasn't exactly gentle when putting the eggs into the glasses. A few cracked, but she was happy to eat them right away. We tried putting stickers on some, but most of those ended up in her mouth. Grand Jane was here for a week to help us celebrate Easter, so she and Ellie had some quality time together.

This new photo album mostly contains Easter pictures, but there are a few others as well from this month.

15 months!

Ellie had her 15-month check up at the doctor today. Besides getting 2 shots in the arm at the end, she did very well and didn't mind being there. She ate several grapes during the appointment to keep her happy.

Ellie is rounding out as far as size and weight, hitting the 55th percentile in both categories. However, housing that big brain of hers keep her head circumference in the 90% for babies her age. She's a little genius!

Speaking of being smart, Jim and I wrote down all the words Ellie knows and the list topped 60! The books say that a 15-month old "may have a vocabulary of 4-5 words." So is it a surprise to anyone that we have another verbose McCracken/Hankins?

We haven't taken many pictures lately, but here are a few recent pictures of Ellie. Maybe when Uncle Andrew comes back to visit, he can give you a YouTube update of our little chatterbox :-)
