Ellie's first official haircut

Well, our little girl is growing up! Last weekend we took Ellie for her first big girl haircut. Jimmy had trimmed her bangs a few times, but it was time for an all-over cut. Her hair was getting shaggy, and she will not keep any type of barrette in her hair.

Our neighbor with 2 little girls recommended Thao at the Hair Cuttery near our house.
Our appointment was on Saturday, so it was a family event. We didn't know how Ellie would react to this new experience, so before we even left the house Jim promised Ellie ice cream if she didn't fuss or cry.

When we arrived, Thao suggested that Ellie sat on Jim's lap. Ellie would not wear the cute kids smock, even though Daddy wore one. Thao was very nice and worked quickly to trim up Ellie's do. Ellie was pretty excited about the whole thing except she didn't like the clips holing up portions of her hair. She kept wanting to pull them out, but if I held her hand, that helped distract her from them.

The entire thing was over in less than 10 minutes and Ellie didn't shed a tear or complain at all. She actually laughed a few times, enjoyed seeing herself in the big mirror, and watching the other people in the shop getting their hair cut too. When Thao offered Ellie a lollipop after the trim, she loved it and we didn't even need to buy her ice cream!

Take a look at our latest album of more pictures from the haircut, and some other recent photos.
